Pardon me, was hoping to also be given that link too if possible.

Anoninonymous#6723

Its not opening for me on windows.

Greetings,

I've never played the game before but I've heard great things about. I downloaded way back when, however I didn't touch it because I didn't connect with the folklore and region personally. I liked the writing and the glossary of info was really nice to understand everything, but it just kept me from being invested on a personal scale.

Now, having spent time playing and completing the routes, I must say that I can see why your game is so great and the praise is well earned. As a fellow developer, your usage of sound and effects quickly made this stand out, on top of your accounting of lighting in the sprites. The UI too made me laugh a couple of times, the usage of facial sprites instead of full body made it easy to read and be invested in characters without refocusing eyesight. Really impressed me, and honestly it got me hooked by a development level more then anything.

I just got done with the true route, and I must say that was a very unexpected twist. Kinda morbid because wouldn't it mean that THAT CHARACTER is basically in that state of being from the get go? If so I'm just wondering how as it's a little messed up, but I get why you went that way and I actually had to double read just to be sure. The other endings were great too, and while they arent vastly different it's nice to still have so many options.

Really coincidently, I saw your expanding toward the new project, sequel even. It's awesome to see you all make it to the consoles even more that the parent company is letting you considering some of the themes. I want to back if I can, even buy if it is not limited to the Switch. I saw your webpage and it's great to see you've already made the goal.

I digress though. Seriously well done on the game and making it a must in the genre, easily earned as to why it's good. I look forward to help whither it be funding production or buying the complete new game. Thank you for making a great story and game.

Side note, I hope you have plans to explore THAT CHARACTER after what they have done. I'm considering the big donation if it means someone cracking down on that behavior even if it ended on good terms.

Howdy,

I apologize for how long it's been to reply. Been going through a difficult season with school, work, and life overall. I appreciate the feedback and the response, and its reassuring to see the clarity from you and your team on the project and its goals.

I have been going through Revived now, since that one seems to have the routes mostly done beinga rehash of the original. It is so nice seeing the expansion you guys are doing compared to that, not to disrespect the creator because he did a great job bringing the original to a new crowd. But, that D&D campaign is so engraved in my mind and the development is so much better in this version.

I hope Santa Lucia continues, though I feel that the writing and characters are a bit stereotyped compared to this. Personally I prefer Morenatsu respectfully even though its not an original work. But I look forward to seeing you guys continue work on both, and that they deliver magnificently.

Greetings,

I found out about Morenatsu about a month ago, and I must say at first I was found it a little bit disappointing. I had no idea of its narrative vale, nor why it was hailed as one of the best visual novels. As someone not too big on the culture it is set in via the reference and cultural habits, it didn't click with me for a while. I had just come from other novels such as Repeat, Echo, Blackgate, Kingsguard, and Tennis Ace and while each had their own ups and downs I connected with them better I found off the the get go.

Now, after a week in, I must say.

Ho. Ly. . S***.

As a fellow game developer, it's truly astounding and awe inspiring the work you guys have done on this game, work I know personally isn't easy and can be hard to keep at. In the course of an hour, I was captivated by the work you put in, even more when I became aware of the undertaking you guys took to get it. The work not only in making each day and getting to know the characters has been amazing, but also that the sprites, artwork, tone, and themes I'm finding are staying true and not too lost in other themes, I finished the demo you have now, following Shin because I come from a similar background in personality and I have just been awed by the level of care your taking in treating the material right and making it more relate-able to a broader audience.

I have been so enraptured that I have actually downloaded the Revisited and Revival and have been comparing the three diligently.  I love how fleshed out your doing the characters, giving everyone screen time and even making those without notice have importance, and making the story a lot more personal when you follow a person closely. Its a beautiful work, so much that it has swiftly risen to be one of my top favorite visual novels alongside Repeat, Kingsguard, Echo, and Blackgate.

Now, praise having been given, I do have some worries that I imagine have been addressed but hope to learn more about.

1) Will the routes be given a bit more choice freedom for developing romances then other versions? For example, other version have you practically stalking a character and giving no one else a chance to learn there struggles. The day filling is a godsend and smart move to balance it, however if say someone has some serious baggage one day and the character your wanting to romance doesn't, can that be balanced out where I can help the their character but not affect the romance outcome?

2) I see that in other versions the save system is a bit nicer then the one here. I know you are using the RenPy style, so I was wondering if their any tweaks your looking to have or make it so save could be compiled according to characters? For example in Revisted, it has 10 save slots per page, which makes it so each page I could have dedicated toward a day and a save slot toward a character. I do not know if it will be as feesible, but is there anything along the line of that in the works?

3) Since it like all games is a work in progress,  will you be updating your estimated completion date or communication on where progress is? I am following the Stormsinger Studio on Patreon but that is dedicated to Santa Lucia, so is there an easier means of tracking the work on the game then here? The status sheet you have is very, very, very useful to see and know where everything lies, but I'm concerned as a follow that with the amount of people working on the game, and with a good chunk of dialouge having already been written in other version, that the time table is too off putting. I'm new so I do not want to berate your ethics no your real life issues, just that 2 to 3 months seems a little excessive for a remade singular  day.

4) Are you looking into adding some more player choices in the game that don't have narrative stakes? Its a simple feature, but it is one that keeps me engaged knowing all a choice affects for instance is what color shirt I'd wear or the food I order. It just adds some more player control I find and engagement, and its something i would love to see in this game with the wold your building and how close the relationships are.

5) I like how you took out the human features and the naming, for while normally I prefer having both in this novel it actually serves a useful purpose. With that in mind though, would you be considering when the romances do get intimate adding human artwork and narrative alongside your default fox one? I get cannically leaving the player an anthro makes since, but when artwork is drawn for those would that be possible to both pay respect to the original game and give players that choice of how they want to look?

6) I see you got some menus in the works like your Revisited version, listing the profiles, event artwork, music, and other stuff which is very cool. Are you also going to look at adding the events narratives as well and some more scenes of romance in the story to also go there? Since Shin's my preferred for instance, their moment in the morning at camp, night before your summer ends, and even comforting one another after your confessions come to mind.  In addition could there similar prologue scenes for each character, perhaps even hints toward what the player will do with their life and how it effects their choice.

Good god, that's a lot of words. I actually made another Itch.io account just for this, so truly thank you for all the work your doing and please keep doing. You guys have passion and resolve to keep this amazing story alive, so please don't stop. Your doing amazing work, so always remember fans like myself care not just about the game but you behind the game. Your a team who brought something back from ages past, your own remaster from something you loved. And you have the power to make it for a new audience, so please, take care of yourselves and don't forget we are here not just for the game but because we support you too.
